How can you not love these two? They are both smart, beautiful, fun and so in love. Being around them you can feel it. I met Danielle and Brendan after Danielle took one of my photography courses at Brookdale Community College a few years ago; several of their family members were taught by me, as well. So when they got engaged, Danielle told me she knew who she would call. And she did! We met for lunch in Red Bank, which is where their ceremony was to take place 14 months later. It seemed so far away. But when their day arrived. it was simply divine. A picture perfect autumn day. With all of their joy, came some sadness. Just a few months before, Brendan’s father unexpectedly passed away. I was heart broken for him and his family; especially with the wedding so near. But these two did what they do best and stood by each other and comforted each other and gave each other strength. It’s really beautiful to watch. When you hear Brendan talk, Danielle knows just when to put her arm around him and when to back off, when to grab his hand and when to give him a comforting smile. That’s because they have been together for so long and Brendan was there for Danielle when she lost her dad years ago.
So their day was indeed bitter sweet. But so many reminders of their lost loved ones and their relationship were everywhere. Danielle wore an anklet with her dad’s photo on it so he would still get to walk her down the aisle, and when they exchanged rings, Brendan was given his dads ring to wear. And yes, I cried. But the laughter, the love, the excitement for their new chapter was evident on that day. See for yourself!
