Go to the Bahamas, they said. You will meet so many great people, they said. Never in a million years did I think a spontaneous decision in summer 2013 to go to ISES LIVE in the Bahamas would pay off financially. I was just becoming active in the organization (I have served as Director of Communications for the past 2 years), and meeting other members from around the globe that were passionate about the organization and their event business was exciting and infectious. I met so many great people on that trip. Jackie being one of them. A bunch of us bonded and spent the trip hanging out together poolside, during all of the classes and all of our meals together. Jackie had just moved to Nashville to work for her aunt’s destination management/corporate event company, Destination Nashville. We had become fast friends from a distance and used social media to stay in touch. She said someday when she gets married she would love to have me photograph it. Last summer that moment happened for Jackie, as Omar finally popped the question. I was one of the first people she called and I was so honored that she was indeed serious about flying me to Nashville to document her perfect day. I was so excited for her and spending the next several months hearing about her wedding was just adding more anticipation about the big day. She said she was getting married in a recording studio (how cool is that?) and then having a cocktail party at this super cool restaurant. Sounded fabulous to me. I couldn’t even begin to imagine the unforgettable event she would plan for herself! When a planner has preferred vendors they work with regularly and they choose to fly you from another state, there is almost no greater honor than that! I knew we had to out do ourselves and create images that would blow Jackie and Omar away. My second shooter, Jaime, was in the Bahamas with me on that infamous trip, so naturally she was the perfect fit to join me on my Nashville adventure. We made sure to get into town a few days early as we wanted to scout out locations and spend time getting acclimated. It paid off big time, as we found some pretty great spots to shoot and I think the results are pretty incredible. I’m honored to have been a part of such an special time in Jackie and Omar’s life. Enjoy these images. You can clearly tell that they had a spectacular day at an very unique venue with their loved ones. Thanks for making us feel like one of your family!
